Alesandra Seutin to Create New Work for National Dance Company Wales in 2026

Uprise Rebel are pleased to announce that Alesandra Seutin has been commissioned by National Dance Company Wales to create a brand new work for the company in 2026. Known for her bold fusion of contemporary and African dance languages, Alesandra brings a powerful and distinctive new voice to the stage. Her practice, rooted in movement as the foundation for theatre, media, and site-specific work, will bring an exciting new dimension to the company’s repertoire.

“Bold, daring, and curious dancers are at the heart of bringing new choreographic ideas to life,” said Alesandra. “I’m excited to be creating a new work for NDCWales in 2026 as part of their autumn tour, and to collaborate with a company that embraces creativity, risk, and connection.”

Rehearsals will begin in April 2026, ahead of touring across Wales, the UK, and internationally later in the year. Alesandra’s new work will be accompanied by a restaging of Theo Clinkard’s Ordinary Courage. More details of where you can see the company will be announced soon. The tour will be supported by a range of wraparound activity, including workshops, masterclasses, and engagement opportunities, connecting audiences and artists through the shared experience of dance.
