Uprise Rebel are pleased to announce that the company is working on the production and delivery of a large scale dance ensemble work from Seeta Patel Dance. The vision of the company's artistic director Seeta Patel, The Rite of Spring is a re-imagining of Igor Stravinsky's seminal work in the Indian dance style of bharatanatyam. The production will also feature a full orchestra due to a major collaboration with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, marrying Western Classical music with South Asian dance. The Rite of Spring will premiere in London at Sadler’s Wells Theatre for a London premiere on Monday 13 & Tuesday 14 March 2023, before touring venues in the South-West and the North of England in November 2023.

Spearheaded by award-winning choreographer and dancer Seeta Patel, the Company creates live stage performances which focus on classical Indian and contemporary dance and dance theatre. This is a particularly exciting time for Uprise Rebel to be joining forces with Seeta Patel Dance as they have recently received Arts Council National Portfolio Organisation for the first time.

In alignment with Uprise Rebel's mission to to set a new paradigm for the representative faces of the contemporary dance sector, Seeta Patel Dance plans to continue to extend its reach worldwide and its mission to introduce new audiences to classical and contemporary Indian dance.
